Answers to Common Questions

We understand that beginning therapy can bring questions. Below you'll find answers about counselling, confidentiality, bookings, online sessions, payments and what to expect.

At first you need to book a free consultation call where we assess your presenting issue and will schedule your therapeutic journey accordingly. Booking your free consultation call is simple. Just click the Book Now button on the website, which will open a short form where you can register your details and select a convenient time for your call. Once you submit the form, your request is sent directly to us, and we will get back to you within 24 hours to confirm your appointment and provide any additional information you may need. This first call is a safe, open-minded, and non-judgmental space to explore what support feels right for you.

I work with adults seeking support with trauma and post-trauma responses, grief and ambiguous loss, anxiety and emotional dysregulation, identity conflict, cultural displacement, migration-related stress, and relationship or attachment patterns. Sessions are suitable whether you are beginning therapy for the first time or returning to support during a difficult chapter.

My approach is gentle, structured and trauma-informed. As a mind–body specialist, I also integrate nervous-system awareness into therapy — helping you understand how stress and emotions can show up physically. Work is paced to feel safe and manageable, never rushed.

Yes. I specialise in trauma-informed support for British Asian, Pakistani and South Asian clients navigating cultural identity conflict, middle-age transitions, silent grief after migration, belonging uncertainty and emotional fragmentation. You do not need to explain your cultural background — it is understood and respected.

I offer secure Online Therapy Sessions and Face to Face Sessions in London, United Kingdom. Support groups are face-to-face. If you are unsure which option suits you best, mention your preference when you book and I will help you decide.

Your first session is a space to share what has brought you here, explore your concerns and goals, and begin building a safe therapeutic relationship. There is no pressure to share everything at once. Together we will discuss the most suitable approach for you going forward.

You can book by clicking “Book Your Session” anywhere on the site, completing the contact form, emailing hello@doortosoul.co.uk, or calling +44 7377 638197. I aim to respond within 24 hours to arrange a suitable appointment time.

Most one-to-one counselling sessions last between 50 and 60 minutes. This provides enough time to explore what feels important while leaving space for grounding before we end. Support group sessions follow the structure shared when you register for a group.

Yes. Life happens — if you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible so the time can be offered to someone else. Late cancellations may be charged as set out in the terms shared when you book.

Many clients begin with weekly sessions for consistency, then adjust frequency as things settle. There is no fixed “right” number of sessions — we review progress together and adapt the plan based on your needs, goals and capacity.

I typically work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Availability can vary with existing bookings and group schedules. Share your preferred times when enquiring and I will do my best to accommodate you.

Groups run seasonally (e.g. Social Anxiety Group in January, April, July and October). Use the booking form and select the relevant group, or email to register your interest. Groups are intentionally small (6–8 people) so places are limited.

Yes. Online Therapy Sessions are available at £25 per session via a secure video platform. Online work offers the same depth, confidentiality and care as in-person therapy, from a private space of your choosing.

A stable internet connection, a quiet private room where you will not be overheard, and a device with a camera and microphone (laptop or tablet recommended). Headphones can help with privacy and focus. You will receive joining instructions before your appointment.

For many people, yes. Online therapy can feel just as connecting and often easier to sustain week to week. Some clients prefer face-to-face presence, while others settle more easily online. We can discuss what feels right for you — and you can move between formats if needed.

If the call disconnects, try rejoining with the same link. If the issue continues, we will continue by phone if appropriate or reschedule the remaining time. Technical interruptions are handled with flexibility and care.

Yes. Many clients mix formats depending on travel, health or preference. Simply let me know in advance so I can plan the appropriate session type and fee (Online £25 / Face to Face £38).

Yes. Everything shared in therapy is confidential. As a Licensed Therapist (NCPS UK), I follow professional ethics and UK safeguarding standards. Your privacy is treated with the utmost care.

If I believe there is a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, I may need to share information with appropriate services to ensure safety. I will always aim to discuss this with you first, unless doing so would increase risk. This approach is set out in my Safeguarding Policy.

Personal details shared through forms, email or sessions are handled in line with my Privacy Policy. Information is used only to provide therapy services, respond to enquiries and meet professional requirements. It is never sold or used for marketing lists.

No one outside the therapeutic agreement is informed that you are a client, except in the rare safeguarding circumstances mentioned above. Online sessions should be taken in a private space so others in your home cannot overhear.

You can read the Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions and Safeguarding Policy via the links in the website footer. If you have questions after reading them, feel free to contact me before booking.

Online Therapy Sessions are £25 per session. Face to Face Sessions are £38 per session. Face-to-face Support Groups are £15 per group session. Fees are kept as clear and accessible as possible.

Payment arrangements are confirmed when you book. Sessions are typically paid in advance or on the day of the appointment as agreed. Full payment details will be shared in your booking confirmation.

Fees are already set accessibly for individual and group work. If cost is a genuine barrier, please mention this when you get in touch — I can discuss available options or group places where suitable.

Face-to-face Support Groups are £15 per group session. Groups include Social Anxiety Support Group, Identity & Self-Loss Group, Mothers Postpartum & Emotional Burnout Group, and Grief & Transition Group. Size limits apply so each group stays safe and intimate.
